PETALING JAYA: A squatter from Kuala Lumpur has finally managed to own a home of her own by winning the Sports Toto 4D Jackpot 1 totalling RM13.7 million on the 19th Oct 2014 draw.
The 42-year-old clerk with a family of five has been living as a squatter with her parents since half a century ago.
As a loyal patron of Sport Toto, she related her story when claiming the prize the next day of the draw on October 19 that the winning combination were actually her car and motorcycle's registration number - 6695 & 6926, which she has been consistently buying for about 2 years.
"I checked the result from my mobile phone on the draw night and I was in disbelief although I had no idea how much I had actually won.
"I thought I had only won more than RM10,000 since I was told by the Sports Toto outlet's sales agent that I could only claim the prize at the headquarters in Berjaya Times Square without knowing that I have actually won RM13.7 million!" she said.
The winner said the prize could change her family's life as they can now afford to buy their own house and invest in properties.
"With the prize I won, I do not need to worry about my son's education fund anymore. I can even send him to study abroad if he can perform well academically.
"I can also do charity, I can take my family for vacation… There are so many things I can do with the amount of money, which my family cannot even earn in our entire lifetime," she said, adding that she would continue to play and try new games from Sports Toto hoping to win more in the future.
