Ringgit eases against US dollar
KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit eased further against the US dollar at the close today following a positive US growth data, despite the stronger regional currencies, a dealer said.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2885/2900 against the greenback compared with 3.2860/2890 on Thursday.
A dealer said the US Commerce Department's report which showed a better-than-forecast third-quarter gross domestic product had boosted the greenback.
The local unit was mixed against other major currencies today. The ringgit was higher against the Singapore dollar at 2.5631/5663 from Thursday's 2.5696/5727 and strengthened against the yen to 2.9491/9512 from 3.0097/0136.
It depreciated against the British pound to 5.2550/2591 from 5.2494/2555 and fell against the euro to 4.1343/1368 from 4.1315/1362 yesterday. – Bernama
