Sabah CM: Don't panic over Penampang shooting

    KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has advised the people not to panic over the shooting incident in Penampang Baru Thursday evening when two suspected criminals were shot dead by police.
    "Security in Sabah is under control," he told reporters after attending a gathering and lunch with students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah yesterday.
    He also urged the people to support and cooperate with the security forces including furnishing information to the authorities to enable prompt action to be taken.
    In the incident at about 4pm Thursday, the two criminals who were shot dead were believed to be involved in three armed robberies this month in Tuaran, Penampang and here.
    Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman, at a news conference yesterday said the two men, aged 50 and 45, and believed to be Philippine nationals were being hunted by police since three months ago. – Bernama
