10 dead as two passenger buses collide in Nepal

    MAKWANPUR, Nepal: At least ten people, including one Russian national, were killed when two speeding passenger buses collided in Basamadhi off Makwanpur, about 300km south east of Kathmandu, today.
    Eight passengers died on the spot and two on the way to hospital, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Dipak Thapa told Bernama by telephone.
    Nine of the ten deceased have been identified. DSP Thapa said 30 other passengers are injured, 13 of them critically. The injured are undergoing treatment in Hetauda and Chitwan hospital but those who are in critical condition are being airlifted to Kathmandu, he said.
    The mishap occurred at around 6am. – Bernama
