PDZ denies knowledge of new substantial shareholder

PETALING JAYA: PDZ Holdings Bhd has denied knowledge of the emergence of Tan Sri Halim Saad as its new substantial shareholder.
In a filing with the stock exchange, the shipping firm said it has no knowledge of Halim's connection with Megalink Industries Sdn Bhd and his emergence as a substantial shareholder in the company.
"The PDZ directors are not aware of any relationship between Megalink and Halim," it said.
PDZ added it was unaware of any other agreements that will increase Megalink's stake substantially in PDZ or result in Halim and associates linked to him to appear as substantial shareholder of PDZ via Megalink, except for the share sale agreement which saw the disposal of 14.73% stake by Mara to Megalink.
