GEORGE TOWN: Investigations into the death of a factory supervisor who was killed when the concrete roof of a factory in Bayan Lepas collapsed on him will focus on structural integrity.

Director of the Penang office of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Mohd Anuar Embi said investigators are concentrating on the sturdiness of the building.

He said investigators also want to find out if the building has been certified by the authorities as fit to be occupied.
"Investigations are still going on," he said in a text statement to the media today.

In the 7pm incident on Wednesday, Wan Ahmad Nadzari Wan Mokhtar, 48, died on the spot after the roof gave way during a rainstorm.

Fire and Rescue Department Services personnel took about an hour to pull the victim from out of the rubble.
