"Later, probably because the victim was not in a stable condition because of the narrow surface of the wall, the victim lost his balance and fell from a height of about 20-30 feet," he told reporters, here today.
He said that the big-sized autistic child tried to save the victim but did not have the time to do so.
"From the statements given, they appeared to be consistent with what had happened," he said.
Muhamad Zaki said the police had interviewed the autistic child, who is a student of the Integrated Special Education Programme, and found that the child was hyperactive and did not know the outcome of his action.
"We have opened a preliminary investigation paper and will forward the case to the prosecutor. It is also stated under the law that for a 12-year-old child, if he did not know what he was doing, it is not an offence," he said.
Meanwhile, Adam Fikri's father, Faizul Khairy Zulkifli, 38, when met at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, here, said his son was in stable condition and only sustained a fractured right foot and left hand, besides injury to the head.

Faizul Khairi said he did not have any ill-feeling against the student concerned and left it to the authorities for any action.
"My focus is only on my child and I have lodged a police report this morning for the process of claiming insurance later," he said.
