KUALA LUMPUR: Two unidentified men are believed to be behind the bombing case that occurred outside a pub at Bukit Bintang last month.
Kuala Lumpur police chief senior DCP Datuk Tajudin Md Ramli said investigators discovered this after examining the footage of four closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera recordings belonging to business outlets close to the Cherry Blossom pub at the Sun Complex.
He said soon after the bombing occurred in the wee hours of Oct 9, the two men were seen fleeing the scene towards a parked car before driving away.
Tajudin said the CCTV footage was scrutinised by forensics police who managed to produce a photofit of one of the two men with the help of a professional artist.
"We believe at least two men were involved in the bombing, which was targeted at a group of patrons of the pub with a motive related to rivalry of some illegal business. We hope the public will come forward and assist us if they know the person in the photofit image," he said.
Tajudin said five men aged between 25 and 46 were held after the incident but were freed after being cleared of wrongdoing.
A car jockey was killed and 13 people including foreigners were wounded in the explosion.
Those with information on the suspect should call ASP R. Ananthan at 019-3227766 or the city serious crimes division at 03-21460685.
