KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak has expressed his deepest appreciation to 14 Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) personnel who were involved in handling the remains of the 23 Malaysian Muslims of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight tragedy.
"Thank you and best wishes and may you get manifold rewards from Allah," he said in his latest posting in his Facebook account here today.
While the country was in mourning and in the midst of searching for answers on the cause of the MH17 tragedy, Najib said the people must not forget the contribution of those who worked to channel assistance in whatever means possible.
"The MH17 tragedy has left a deep impact on all Malaysians," he said.
Yesterday Najib presented appreciation certificates to the 14 personnel led by Masjid Putrajaya chief imam Ustaz Mohd Abdul Manaf at Parliament.
They comprised 10 male and four female officers who were in Amsterdam from July 18 and completed their job 44 days later after the remains of all the Malaysian victims were brought back to Malaysia.
