Reference proceeding held for late Sultan Azlan Shah

PUTRAJAYA: A reference proceeding in honour of the late Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah was held at the Federal Court, here, today.
He was the fifth Lord President of the Federal Court. The proceeding was chaired by Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria in the presence of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and his consort, Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.
Also seated on the bench were Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Md Raus Sharif, Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin and Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Richard Malanjum.
The proceeding was to commemorate Sultan Azlan Shah's contributions to the judiciary and legal service. During the proceeding, Justice Arifin, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and Malaysian Bar Council president Christopher Leong paid tributes to the late sultan. Sultan Nazrin Shah also delivered a special address at the reference proceeding. – Bernama
