GLC's record net income of RM162.3b from 2004 to 2013

KUALA LUMPUR: The 20 Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) posted a net profit of RM162.3 billion from 2004 to 2013, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong.
He said for the same period, the GLCs paid tax of RM56.6 billion. The GLCs are collectively referred to as G20 and are the biggest listed under the Government Transformation Programme.
"The net profit comprised RM9.9 billion in 2004, RM7 billion (2005), RM10.5 billion (2006), RM19.2 billion (2007), RM14.5 billion (2008), RM11.8 billion (2009), RM17.1 billion (2010), RM20.6 billion (2011), RM26.1 billion (2012) and RM25.6 billion in 2013," he said in reply to Nurul Izzah Anwar (PKR-Lembah Pantai) in the Dewan Rakyat here today.
Nurul Izzah's question was based on the financial aspects of the GLC. Elaborating further, Chua said gross assets of the G20 GLCs for the financial year 2013 was RM1,382.3 billion, and gross liabilities at RM946.8 billion, while net assets were at RM435.6 billion. – Bernama
