KUALA LUMPUR: The approach adopted by fire ants will be followed by Puteri Umno in efforts to strengthen the movement in future, besides following the noble traits of nine Muslim heroines named "Siti".
Puteri Umno chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the fire ants, although small in size, have painful bites, work as a team and are hard-working besides not knowing the meaning of despair, which will also be the approach taken by Puteri Umno in drawing up its strategy and setting up the "fire ant force".
"The ants are loyal to their leader and will defend their 'home' from any intrusion. They will never lose their way as they build their own route network and are smart in drawing up their strategy.
"This is the Puteri Umno force. Quietly, we draw up our strategy. We repel all (malicious) propaganda and slander on the social websites," she said in her speech during the Puteri Umno assembly.
Mas Ermieyati said they have no problem in forming a strong party machinery as there are many professionals choosing to join Puteri Umno in its struggles.
She wants all members of the wing to uphold strongly the spirit of "P.U.T.E.R.I", that is, "Pejuang, Unik, Tekad, Elit, Realistik dan Intelek" (Fighter, Unique, Willpower, Elite, Realistic and Intellect).
The member of Parliament for Masjid Tanah said Puteri Umno members never have any doubt in the struggle to defend the religion and race, by emulating the traits of the Muslim heroines named "Siti".
The nine women named Siti were the wives of Prophet Muhamad, Siti Khadijah who was loyal and Siti Aishah who helped in missionary activities; Siti Fatimah (daughter of Prophet Muhamad, who had good manners and was faithful); Siti Hajar (the wife of Prophet Ibrahim, who was obedient) and Siti Mariam (the mother of Prophet Isa).
Others were Siti Asiah (wife of a Pharoah); Siti Aminah (the mother of Prophet Muhamad SAW); Siti Zubaidah (wife of the caliph, Harun Al-Rashid) and Siti Muti'ah (a loyal wife who went to heaven).
Mas Ermieyati also asked for the people not to compare her to her predecessors, especially the first Puteri chief, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, as the wing now has 80% new faces and is facing challenging times. – Bernama
