Headless body found in Sungai Bakap

    NIBONG TEBAL: A headless body with the hands chopped off was found inside a gunny sack at a canal in Jalan Kampung Permatang, Sungai Bakap, Sungai Bakap here today.
    The gruesome discovery was made by one of the villagers at about 5.30pm.
    Penang deputy CID chief P. R. Gunarajan, who was at the scene, said police believe the murder was committed elsewhere and the body dumped at the canal inside a gunny sack.
    He said police were still ascertaining the victim's identity.
    "We believe he is a foreigner," he told reporters when met at the scene, adding police were still investigating if the incident was connected to the head found in front of a restaurant in Bukit Mertajam lately.
    Meanwhile, two bodies were also found in Sungai Tok Sardon, Kubang Semang, near Bukit Mertajam today.
    A police spokesman said the two bodies were found by villagers floating in the river around 5pm.
