The ultimate football retreat

CARLSBERG hosted over 300 diehard football fans at its Ultimate Football Retreat, held at AVANI Sepang Goldcoast Resort recently. An experience of a lifetime, lucky Carlsberg consumers were treated to premium accommodation, an incredible line-up of matches viewed on huge HD screens, with the highlight of the getaway being of course, the chance to "rub shoulders" with four BPL legends – Dennis Wise, Steve McManaman, Gianfranco Zola and Sol Campbell.
In his speech, Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Henrik Juel Andersen said while in the past, the brand has hosted meet-and-greet sessions with football legends in Malaysia, it has "raised the bar this year, by creating the first-of-its-kind football weekend getaway". Besides Malaysian consumers, the two-day/one-night event also included Hong Kong consumers, along with Carlsberg Hong Kong managing director Ted Akiskalos.
During the meet-and-greet session at the weekend retreat, the football aces posed for photos and signed autographs for their fans. The fun continued through the afternoon as the footie enthusiasts engaged in games such as the ZigZag Football, Football Pong and Bubble Football, with the pros. After dinner with the football stars, fans were treated to watch the Barclays Premier League action aired live, where Manchester City took on Swansea. This was followed by the Arsenal versus Manchester United game.
The legends were also happy to join football pundits Adam Carruthers and Abbas Saad, who delivered the pre-game, halftime and post-game shows over Astro Supersports BPL Weekend, which was broadcasted and delivered live from the viewing party.
In all, the retreat ended on a sweet note, especially for four lucky Carlsberg consumers. They not only got to enjoy the memorable weekend but won an all- expenses-paid trip to the UK to watch a BPL match live, courtesy of Carlsberg.
