SUNGAI BULOH: An 11-year-old girl was injured after a tour bus carrying about 30 passengers overturned at Km458.5 of the North-South Expressway near the Sungai Buloh R&R area (south-bound) early today.
The girl was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment following the accident which occurred at 12.30am, said the driver of the bus, K. Ramesh, 45.
The other passengers were unhurt, he added. Ramesh said the accident happened just as the bus was leaving the R&R area.
He said he did not see a large hole almost a metre deep at a newly resurfaced stretch of the highway and the bus ran into it.
It is learnt that all the passengers, who were from Ipoh, had boarded another bus to continue their journey to Singapore.
A spokesman of the Traffic Control Centre of Plus Expressways Sdn Bhd, when contacted by Bernama, said the overturned bus was towed away at 2.25am. – Bernama
