9 'Jaga kereta' fined, 2 other claims trial

GEORGE TOWN: Two illegal parking attendants claimed trial while nine others pleaded guilty at the magistrate' court yesterday for allegedly collecting parking fees.
Lee Ah Teik, 72, and Adamson Rogers, 26, pleaded not guilty to the offences that were read to them before magistrate Sri Pracha Nanthini Balabedha.
Sri Pracha set RM800 bail in one-surety for Lee and RM700 bail in one-surety for Adamson.
Both cases have been set for mention on Dec 23.
Meanwhile, the nine others were fined between RM700 and RM1,800 after pleading guilty to their charges. They are Azwan Ramli, 46, L. Sivakumar, 38, Abu Bakar Raduan, 30, Abdul Halim Mohd Seeni, 40, Mohd Fouzi Roslan, 21, Hasmin Senthemadar, 36, Mohd Zikri Zainol Abidin, 26, Anthony Raja Dass, 39, and Chan Boon Fooi, 48.
They were nabbed during a joint operation by Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP) and police on Dec 6.
