No such event, says Penang BN

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Barisan Nasional today denied that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak will attend an event in Batu Kawan and Padang Kota Lama on Jan 1, next year.
Its secretary Datuk Omar Faudzar said in a statement they received numerous queries from the public on the matter.
He added they contacted the Prime Minister's Office and "we were told there is no such event on PM's schedule on that day".
It is learnt that there were rumours that those attending the event were promised money.
Omar said the state BN did not organise any such event and had nothing to do with the rumours.
