Dewan negara adjourns, passes 14 bills

KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Negara, which sat for 12 days since Dec 1, adjourned sine die today after approving 14 bills.
These included the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (Amendment) Bill 2014, the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (Amendment) Bill 2014 and the Prisons (Amendment)(No.2) Bill 2014.
Also approved were the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Amendment) Bill 2014, Registration of Businesses (Amendment) Bill 2014, Limited Liability Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2014, Netting of Financial Agreements Bill 2014, Supply Bill 2015, and the Finance (No.2) Bill 2014.
Other bills which were approved were the Malaysia Airlines System Berhad (Administration) Bill 2014, Control of Supplies (Amendment) Bill 2014, Registration of Engineers (Amendment) Bill 2014, Architects (Amendment) Bill 2014 and Quantity Surveyors (Amendment) Bill 2014).
Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang announced the adjournment at about 6.30pm and thanked all members of the Senate, ministers, deputy ministers and government officers who were on duty during the sitting. – Bernama
