Hot air balloon accident in Turkey due to collision in mid-air, says report

    KUALA LUMPUR: Initial reports of the hot air balloon accident in Turkey yesterday revealed that the accident was due to two hot air balloons colliding in mid-air over the Guvercinlik Valley.
    In a statement issued here today, the Foreign Ministry said the real reason was still being investigated.
    In the incident, a Chinese tourist was killed and nine others, including five Malaysians, were injured.
    "All the Malaysians have been referred to the Versa Private Hospital for further treatment. One of them is reported to be in critical condition while the other four suffered minor injuries," the statement said.
    Officers from the Malaysian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, have visited the victims and provided consular assistance. – Bernama
