JAKS subsidiary bags RM55.3m Langat 2 supply and installation pipes job

    PETALING JAYA: JAKS Resources Bhd's subsidiary, JAKS Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract for the supply and installation of pipes for the Langat 2 water treatment plant for RM55.3 milion.
    In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday the company said it had accepted the award for Package 5 of the proposed development of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant and Water Reticulation System in Selangor/ Kuala Lumpur from Water Asset Management Company (PAAB).
    The contract is for a duration of 24 months and is expected to be completed by January 2017. Langat 2 is a major water supply project for the state of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur and is expected to cater to water supply needs of the state up to the year 2025.
    The project entails the development of the Langat 2 water treatment plant in two sections with nominal treated water production of 565 MLD (Million Litres per Day) for each section.The water treatment plant is to be completed on April 30, 2017.
