KUALA LUMPUR: The V-Day Challenge 2015 (#VDAY2015) programme, which aims at creating awareness on the conservation of sharks, will seek to refrain shark-fin soup from being served at wedding dinners.

The two-day programme, which will be held from Feb 14 in conjunction with Valentine's Day next year, will be jointly organised by an online wedding portal Wedding.com.my and a non-government organisation WildAid Shark Savers.

Wedding.com.my in a statement said the programme would include three different events, namely a Romantic Dinner and "Wedding Wonderland" on Feb 14 and 'Shark Savers' Couple Challenge on Feb 15.

Wedding.com.my is Malaysia's no.1 online wedding portal providing inspiration to brides and bridegrooms in planning their wedding through a network of wedding vendors who provide services such as hotel packages, decor of the bride's house, rental of jewellery, designer wedding dresses and photography services.
WildAid Shark Savers, on the other hand, focuses on addressing human threat to wildlife through a comprehensive approach including public awareness and educational campaigns to reduce consumer demand for wildlife products and working with communities to support and enforce habitat protection worldwide. – Bernama
