PUTRAJAYA: The PT3 assessment results announced today, irrespective of grades, will be useful in providing guidance to choose future education pathways, be it in arts, sciences or technical and vocational training, Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said.

In a statement to Bernama here yesterday, he said the PT3 assessment results would be considered together with the Psychometric Assessment (PPsi), the Physical Sports and Co-curricular Assessment (PAJSK) and School Assessment (PS).

"PT3, PPsi, PAJSK and PS together form the key components of the school-based assessment approach which enable us to better understand and appreciate our children's potential and needs."

"It is hoped that through this we will be able to mould more holistic students and raise the standard of our national education system," he added.

Idris also congratulated all students who had excelled in the test and thanked all the teachers for their hardwork and support.

A total of 453,413 candidates who sat for the test at 2,608 examination centres nationwide in October received their results today.

This was first time the PT3 assessment was implemented to replace the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), which was introduced in 1993. – Bernama
