Ringgit easier in early trade on subdued demand

    KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit was traded easier against the US dollar this morning, on subdued demand for the local unit.

    At 9.20am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.4960/4980 versus the greenback from 3.4860/4880 recorded at 5pm on Monday.

    Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly higher.
    It appreciated against the pound to 5.4485/4527 from Monday's 5.4504/4542, rose against the euro to 4.2746/2777 from 4.2766/2794 but was little changed against the yen at 2.9102/9123 from 2.9103/9122 yesterday.

    The ringgit, however, fell vis-a-vis the Singapore dollar to 2.6501/6518 from Monday's 2.6443/6478. – Bernama
