340 NS trainees affected by floods in Kelantan shifted to relief centre

    KUALA LUMPUR: Some 340 National Service Training Programme (NS) trainees at the Batu Jong Camp in Kuala Krai Kelantan who were affected by the floods have been shifted to the relief centre in Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Batu Jong.

    The National Service Training Department (JLKN) in a statement said that of the total, 182 of the trainees were males, while another 158 were females.
    It said there were another four camps affected by the floods, three in Terengganu and one in Perlis, however none of the trainees there had to be shifted and that the flood situation was improving.

    The four camps were the Cenderawasih Cador Camp in Marang, Saujana Jabi Camp in Besut, Cheneh Cemerlang Camp in Kemaman and Tasoh Camp in Kangar.

    JLKN said that an emergency response plan had been given to all NS camps nationwide as a guide to face natural disasters and the department always prioritised the safety of their trainees.
