PERMATANG PAUH: Two dead bodies were found at two different locations at Jalan Sungai Lembu here today.
The first dead body discovered was of a man whose right hand was missing. He was discovered at 10.57am by the public.
Speaking to reporters at the scene, Assistant Commissioner of Police R. S. Gunarajan said the deceased, who was in his 30s is believed to have been murdered elsewhere, before being dumped at Jalan Sungai Lembu.
"Based on investigations, the deceased is believed to have been murdered four days ago," he said.
Police were unable to identify the deceased as his body had began decomposing and there were no identification documents found on him.
According to Gunarajan, the victim was believed to have been dragged to the scene by two or three individuals.
He said the case would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The second body was found on the same road at 1.30pm, three kilometres away from the first body.
Gunarajan said the second body, a foreigner, had no injury marks and believes it was a case of sudden death.
Police believe both cases have no connection, but will however carry out a thorough investigation to find out how the victim ended up at the road.
Bodies were sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for post mortem.
