Sports Toto sponsors cross-country run

KUALA LUMPUR: To promote healthy living, Sports Toto has sponsored the Sports Toto-FTKLAA Cross Country run, organised by the Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association (FTKLAA), to be held on Jan 25 at Padang Merbok.
We are having a cross country run instead of an ordinary running event because we believe it will be more challenging and interesting to the runners," said Sports Toto communications manager Giam Say Khoon today at the official launch of the event.
"We are targeting to have 3,000 runners and those interested should register early due to limited places," Giam said, adding that the closing date for registration is Jan 15.
The event features 10km, 6km and 2.5km categories and is open to participants aged nine and above.

Registration fee for participants aged 18 and above is RM50 while those between the ages of nine to 17 only need to pay RM20.
Among the incentives offered to participants are cash prizes totalling RM11,950 as well as T-shirts and certificates.
FTKLAA honorary secretary Datuk S. Vegiyathuman, who was also present at the launch, encouraged the public, especially families, to participate in the run.
"Make it a family outing. Since it is open to everyone, parents should bring their children along. We have received 300 entries since registration opened last week," he said.
