OurFest 2015

The A’Famosa Resort OurFest 2015 was held recently in support of Tourism Malaysia’s 2015 campaign called MyFest. The event was aimed at showcasing and celebrating Malaysia’s bounteous cultures and festivities. Held over two days, the event proved to be a continuous celebration filled with a myriad of activities ideal for young and young-at-heart.
A’Famosa Resort hosted a kite flying competition which witnessed participation by various groups and organisations including Stunt Kite Trading Johor, Singapore Kite Group, Mersing Johor Kite Group, Pasir Gudang Kite Group, Selangor Kite Group, Saim Bolong Kite Group and Johore Kite Club. As multicoloured, creative and enchanting kites took to the sky, the crowd were visibly mesmerised. The kites that especially got the crowd’s attention were the LED kite, Stunt kite, Frameless Giant Octopus kite and the 14m Giant Delta kite.
A main attraction at the event was the vintage bike exhibition which was held at the resort grounds. There were over 30 Vespa motorbikes, along with bikers from Kelab Vespa Johor, who were present at the event. Each Vespa had a character and depicted a story of its own, personally customised by their owners.
OurFest 2015 garnered a good crowd which stood to approximately 1,000 people who came from Malacca, Seremban and other states. The event inspired little ones to indulge in good old fashioned kite flying and adults, to develop new interests. On the whole, it encouraged families to enjoy quality time together.
