Strong earthquake strikes Aru Island region in Indonesia

    KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter Scale, hit the Aru Island region in Indonesia at 4.25am today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department reported.
    It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 607km southeast of Sorong, Indonesia, and 2,037km southeast of Semporna, Sabah. – Bernama
