19 Jan 2015 / 17:53 H.

GEORGE TOWN: Police have set up a task force to trace the whereabouts of a businessman, who has a "Datuk Seri" title, after his family reportedly was unable to contact him for the past few days.

A Chinese daily in its edition today quoted Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi as saying the task force was formed after the family lodged a report.

Abdul Rahim had said the family has yet to receive any ransom notice and that the case was still under investigation.

Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah meanwhile remained tight-lipped when contacted about the case.

He said police will be calling for a press conference soon regarding the matter but did not want to elaborate further.

"We will inform the media," he told theSun and declined further comment.
