SIR Mick Jagger has created a scholarship in honour of L'Wren Scott.
The Rolling Stones frontman was left devastated when his fashion designer girlfriend took her own life last March and has created an "extremely generous" financial package for one Central Saint Martins student per year for the next three years in her memory.
The scholarship will cover tuition and some living expenses and was set up because L'Wren had been close to a former course director at the London university, the late Louise Wilson.
Fabio Piras, the current MA Fashion course director, said:"I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package. Our students sacrifice much to take up this course and work extremely hard while they are here.
"I am very proud of the fact that this course... continues to be recognised as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion industry."
The 71-year-old rocker was left devastated last March following the death of L'Wren, who he had been in a relationship with for 12 years.
He said at the time: "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received." – Bang Media
