Umno Youth seeking viable solutions

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth hopes that all the problems arising between their leaders and former leaders, can be solved by more viable solutions.
Its youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said that although it is not appropriate for them as the party's young generation to give any advice to the party seniors, they still hope that a viable solution can be found to address the ongoing criticisms hurled by former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
"We at the youth wing do not wish to see any internal problem that could weaken the party.
"Hence, if there is any problem be it internal or external, it is always best to solve it soonest before it is too late," added Khairy after chairing the Umno Youth Exco meeting at the party headquarters today.
He also pointed out that regardless the outcome, the youth wing remains committed and loyal toward the party president.
Tun Daim recently in his exclusive interview with a local media, urged Najib to seriously learn from former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, on how to be decisive when handling crises.
This is because the former premier had a good track record in dealing with several crises.
Asked to comment on the probability of the government tabling a new anti-terrorism bill in Parliament to combat terrorism threats, Khairy said there is no such need because the current laws such as Sosma 2012 (Security Offences [Special Measures] Act) are more than enough to deal with such situations.
"If there is really such a need or there is any weakness with the Act, then I think we should consider further strengthening Sosma instead of introducing a new law," he added.
