Slam vocalist, friend charged with drug possession

    AMPANG JAYA: Former Slam vocalist Zamani Ibrahim (pix) and his friend Nur Juliana Abdul Rani pleaded not guilty in the magistrate's court today to a charge of possessing 1.2g of heroin at about 12:30am at his house in Taman Keramat on Jan 21.
    They were charged under section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
    Zamani and Nur Juliana were also charged under Section (15)(1)(a) of the same act for consuming morphine and amphatemine at the narcotics investigation department office at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters between 2am and 2.05am the same day.
    Magistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman set bail at RM6,500 with one surety for each accused and fixed March 10 for mention.
    Both defendants were represented by Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar while DPP Nurdeenie Datuk Abdul Rashid appeared for the prosecution.
