Muhyiddin: Datuk Nik Aziz was an astute politician

BAU: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat as an astute politician whose passing was greatly felt by the people.
He said the late menteri besar was highly esteemed for his pleasant, moderate demeanour not only as a politician but also as a religious leader who had contributed immensely to Islam.
"Let's set aside politics, for humanity and our bond as Muslims...may his soul be placed among the faithful and pious.
"We also wish to express our deepest condolences to the family and may they remain strong in facing this challenge from Allah," he said in a media conference after a meet-the-people session at Dewan Suarah Bau, here today.
