SHAH ALAM: The kidnapping and murder case of a 60-year-old female managing director of a security company was solved with the arrest of six suspects including two women by police today.
It is learnt that the mastermind behind the abduction was the victim's driver who was among those held in several raids in the Klang Valley, Penang and Perak.
The kidnappers had made a ransom demand of RM2 million but never saw the sum as the victim, identified as Sardani Balveer Kaur, was killed and her body disposed at sea by her killers at Sungai Udang, Penang on Saturday.
Selangor police CID chief SAC Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said today that police arrested the victim's 24-year-old driver soon after her body was recovered before three men and two women were held in subsequent raids.
He said police are looking for another 23-year-old male accomplice who has gone into hiding.
He said all six suspects in police custody are under remand for investigations.
It is also learnt that the kidnappers had resorted to killing the victim after it came to her knowledge her driver had hatched the abduction plan.
Sardani of Shah Alam went missing after she reportedly left for Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, on Feb 13 for a business meeting.
It is learnt that her family received a call hours later from an unknown man who demanded for the ransom for her safe release.
However, Penang police recovered her body that was swept to the shores of Sungai Udang beach on Saturday.
The victim whose late father was a Sikh priest and leaves behind her husband and two sons was laid to rest at the Nirvana Memorial Park here on Monday.
Mohd Adnan urged those with information on Vivegkananthaa a/l Sanga (IC No. 920311-07-5571) of No 33, Changkat Minden, Jalan 6, Sungai Gelugor, 11700 Penang, to contact DSP Mohd Radzi Ahmad at 019-4418818 or ASP Norazmi Yaacob (019-8128911) or the nearest police station.
