Pakistan to allow FBI to interrogate cyber crime suspects

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani authorities would allow agents from the FBI to interrogate two cyber crime suspects each with a US$50,000 bounty on their heads in the United States, officials said Monday, more than a week after their arrest.
Pakistani nationals Noor Aziz Uddin and Furhan ul Arshad were arrested in the southern city of Karachi on February 14, police said.
The FBI's website said the men were part of an international gang operating in several countries that stole over 50 million dollars online in 2008 and 2012.
The FBI last week sought access to interrogate them in custody, an official at the Pakistani Interior Ministry told dpa, seeking anonymity.
"We will allow FBI guys question them," the official said, "That's the usual practice."
The gang operates from Pakistan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore, Italy and Malaysia, the FBI website said.
US authorities issued a federal arrest warrant for both Uddin and Arshad in 2012. – dpa
