UN rep for humanitarian affairs calls on Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA: United Nations' Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos today called on Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at his office here.
Muhyiddin, who is also chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, and Amos discussed, among others, humanitarian aid; handling of natural disasters; the issue of human trafficking and security.
Amos' visit to Malaysia, at the invitation of the government, is to provide advisory service and share experiences in disaster management.
National Security Council secretary Datuk Mohamed Tajudeen Abd Wahab and head of the World Humanitarian Summit secretariat, Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, also attended the meeting. – Bernama
