MCA finalises list for school allocation aids

    JOHOR BARU: MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said he will submit the list of fund allocation for SRJKC nationwide to the Ministry of Education next week.
    He said this after attending Johor MCA Chinese New Year open house at Johor Baru Closed Door Stadium here today.
    "MCA have received some schools asking for RM174 million fund allocation for maintenance expenditures and others. MCA's special taskforce have screened these applications and will work on the allocation based on the approved RM50 million approved by the Federal Government," he explained.
    "We will take care of the needs of 1,294 SRJKC nationwide."
    Earlier, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said, the state government is willing to cooperate with MCA to render financial assistance in education, and asked Johor MCA to coordinate and submit the list of the schools.
    Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, who is also the Johor MCA state liaison committee chief said that Johor MCA expects the state government to grant a few millions in financial aids for the 220 SRJKC in Johor this year.
