Drowned victim's body found in Sungai Pahang

KUANTAN: The body of Ashrie Izzudyn Abdul Halim, 22, who is feared drowned while bathing in Sungai Pahang yesterday, was found this morning, near Kampung Gua, Bera.
Bera district police chief DSP Zul Haizal Zainal Abidin said the rescue team found his body at 9.15 am, near the location he was reported missing.
"His body was sent to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh for a post-mortem. The police have informed his family members to identify the body," he told Bernama today.
Zul Haizal said the police received a report about the victim, who was bathing with three of his friends at 6.45 pm, yesterday.
The police and the Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call yesterday but the rescue operation had to be postponed as it was dark. – Bernama
