Ringgit opens lower against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar this morning as the greenback remained firm against other major currencies ahead of US employment report for February, due later today.
At 9.01am, the local note was quoted at 3.6560/6590 against the greenback from Thursday's 3.6470/6500. However, the local note was also traded lower against other major currencies.
The ringgit depreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.6665/6708 from 2.6657/6681 on Thursday and eased against the yen at 3.0439/0476 from 3.0430/0457 yesterday.
It fell against the British pound to 5.5710/5770 from 5.5602/5655 previously and fell against the euro to 4.0289/0337 from 4.0277/0318 on Thursday. – Bernama
