Policeman killed in road crash

GEORGE TOWN: A policeman died due to serious injuries when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a factory van at Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim, Bayan Lepas here today.
Lance Corporal B. Sukumaran, 31, died while being treated at a private hospital in Bayan Baru here, a few hours after the 6.30am incident.
Southwest District police chief Supt Lai Fah Hin said initial investigations found the vehicles were in a head-on collision causing the victim to be thrown off his machine and severely injured.
"The victim suffered internal injuries in the head, stomach, a ruptured urinary ballder and broke his right leg," he said when contacted.
Sukumaran's body was sent to Hospital Balik Pulau for a post mortem.
Lai said police were looking for the van driver who is in his 40s. – Bernama
