IJM names SOAM CEO, managing director

PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd has appointed Datuk Soam Heng Choon as its CEO and managing director effective April 6, 2015, replacing current CEO and managing director Datuk Teh Kean Ming who is retiring upon the expiry of his contract on April 5, 2015.
Soam, 55, joined the group on Nov 15, 1989 and was appointed as deputy CEO and deputy managing director on June 7, 2013. He has helmed the group's property division, IJM Land, since 2004.
IJM said in a statement yesterday that Soam's appointment is in line with the group's established succession plan.
The group also appointed Lee Chun Fai as its new deputy CEO and deputy managing director effective April 6, 2015.
Lee, 44, joined the group in October 1995 and was appointed head of corporate strategy and investment on July 1, 2012.
He was subsequently put in charge of the infrastructure division.
The group said Lee has extensive experience in corporate finance, privatisation projects and financial management and has been instrumental in the successful completion of the recent corporate exercises of the group.
