PETALING JAYA: Aviation industry professionals and fans will not want to miss this year's Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 or Lima '15 in short. Two combat-proven Rafale aircrafts, a single-seater and a two-seater belonging to the French Air Force, are ready to dazzle visitors at the fair.
Specially flown in to showcase the capabilities of a true multirole fighter aircraft, these state-of-the-art jets will be demonstrating an array of spectacular aerial manoeuvres during the daily flight demos at the exhibition.
A Rafale International press report stated: "Our participation in Lima '15 once again emphasises Rafale International's commitment to Malaysia that goes beyond defence technology.
An exhibition such as Lima '15 provides a good platform to meet like-minded experts, including those from institutions of higher learning, research and technology labs and related industries. It is an opportunity for Rafale to widen our areas of collaboration with Malaysian partners and strengthen the Rafale network of excellence in Malaysia."
Designed for enhanced survivability and said to be operational for 40 years or more, the Rafale is no ordinary aircraft. It is the only European fighter aircraft equipped with phased array radar, the Thales RBE2 Aesa, which extends the aircraft's range capabilities to increase its reliability.
Rafale aircrafts also have the ability to take off with a maximum weight of 24.5 tonnes (54,000 lbs). This is about 2.5 times the aircraft's own 10 tonne (22,000 lbs) empty weight, and a testament of the aircraft's advanced technology and comprehensive engineering.
Interior of the aircraft is just as impressive. Rafale is equipped with the Multi-sensor Data Fusion technology, which provides a link between battle space surrounding the aircraft and the pilot. This allows the pilot to be a true "tactical decision maker" in any mission.
Watch the Rafale in action at Lima '15. Trade visitors are welcomed until March 19 whereas the public have access to the exhibition on March 20 and 21.
The exhibition opens from 10am until 5.30pm. For information on aerial displays during the trade and public exhibition days, kindly refer to the Lima '15 website at www.lima.com.my
Maritime displays will be held at Porto Malai from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Besides the amazing aircraft, a wide range of innovative and cutting-edge technology will also be showcased at the Rafale International booth – B640, Hall B.
