SELAYANG: Newly-appointed Petaling Jaya city mayor Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain (pix) has stressed that cooperation and combined effort will benefit PJ's existing administrative system.
Azizi, who formerly was the council president of Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS) said he has the responsibility to exercise his duty for the taxpayers and he expects full cooperation from all parties to contribute to the city's well-being.
He said that as mayor, priority issues such as safety, transportation and cleanliness, will be addressed immediately after briefing by the state committee.
He, however, stated that things will be run differently in PJ as compared to Selayang in terms of residents' demands and expectations but remained optimistic that demands can be met through strong cooperation between the authorities and residents.
"The people in PJ are more vocal and aware of their neighbourhood as the area has undergone major urbanisation.
"Therefore as mayor, it is crucial to engage with the people there and be updated on the current happenings so that the relevant authorities can take the necessary action," he said.
