Babysitter claims trial to abusing 2 children

    IPOH: A babysitter was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with abusing two siblings under her care.

    P. Nalani Dewi, 26, claimed trial to committing the offence on Nor Sarinya Abdullah, 3, at a house in Chemor between Dec 28, 2014 and March 3, 2015.

    Magistrate Suhaima Mohd Noor set bail at RM15,000 with two sureties.

    Nalani Dewi, represented by counsel E.P. Seeralasittan, claimed trial in another court to committing the offence on Muhammad Darwen Abdullah, 6, at the same place and on the same dates.

    Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof set bail at RM20,000 with two sureties and warned the accused against contacting the victims' family, failing which her bail would be withdrawn.

    Each charge, under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, carries a fine of up to RM20,000 or a jail term of up to 10 years, or both, upon conviction.

    Both cases have been fixed for remention on April 29; deputy public prosecutor Nadiatul Athirah Azman appeared for the prosecution. – Bernama
