ALOR SETAR: Kedah DAP today described the decision by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to severe ties with PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang as undemocratic.
Its chairman Tan Yen Chai said PAS had the right to submit the motion in Parliament.
"DAP will be jeopardised and if there is a need to reject hudud law, reject is in Parliament through votes. Then it is democratic," he told a media conference here today.
Meanwhile Kedah DAP organisation secretary Law Theng Hooi said Guan Eng's action was hasty and expressed concern that it would cause negative perception among voters and the crisis within the Pakatan Rakyat to worsen.
DAP central executive committee which met last Tuesday made a stand to severe all ties with Abdul Hadi. Guan Eng, in a statement, said DAP could no longer work with Abdul Hadi for being allegedly insincere and not having any dignity. – Bernama
