Yoga guru threatened by IS members

    GEORGE TOWN: An Indian yoga guru who was on a tour in Penang was allegedly threatened by members of the Islamic State militant group few days ago.
    It is learnt the famous guru, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is also the founder of the Art of Living foundation, was in the state to attend a yoga programme at the Esplanade and Batu Kawan stadium over the weekend.
    Sources have since revealed that he checked out from the hotel he was staying in today before boarding a flight to Kuala Lumpur at 3pm.
    The general manager of the hotel also allegedly received a death threat.
    A police report has been lodged by the hotelier.
    Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi has confirmed the matter when contacted.
    The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation under the Penal Code.
