SERI KEMBANGAN: The Malaysian Armed Forced Veteran Affairs Department (JHEV ATM) received two dialysis machines thanks to Affin Holdings Berhad at the Yayasan Veteran ATM (YVATM) dialysis centre here.
Department director-general Major-General Datuk Mohd Noor Daud said this contribution is a welcome addition to the dialysis centre as it recognises the services of veterans who had once sacrificed to protect the country.
"One dialysis machine will be placed here at the Seri Kembangan centre and the other one at Batu Caves, Gombak centre," he added.
In 2005, YVATM established a veterans' medical company called D'Vet Sdn Bhd in a move to increase YVATM funds to help ex-servicemen.
D'Vet opened two dialysis centres in Seri Kembangan and Sungai Besi.
In 2009, D'Vet opened another dialysis centre in Sunway Batu Caves which is currently treating a total of 14 patients and equipped with six dialysis machines.
