KUALA LUMPUR: Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the police have the right to investigate The Malaysian Insider (TMI) editors and top officials under the Sedition Act over an article on hudud published by the web news portal.
"I think the police have to be given (an) opportunity to undertake the investigation.
"We'll see whether they will be charged or whatever. I think its pretty premature to say what will happen in this case," Khairy told the media after attending the Garmin Lifestyle Fashion Show 2015 here today.
Khairy added that the police are only doing their job to ensure the nation's safety.
"Police reports were made and we have to leave it to the police to see what is the appropriate course of action," he said.
