GEORGE TOWN: A 30-year-old driver broke his leg after he was believed to have lost control of his car and collided into a garbage collection lorry today.

The incident happened at about about 11.30am at the exit to Gat Lebuh Cecil from the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the driver was heading towards George Town from the Penang Bridge before initial investigations suggested that the vehicle lost control as it was exiting the expressway.
"The 39-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt," he said in a brief statement, adding the case was being investigated under the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
