Security guard charged for murder

JOHOR BARU: A security guard of a bank was charged in the magistrate's court today with the murder of a senior officer in the same bank in Taman Molek.
Rosly Mohd Ismail, 44, from Bandar Baru, UDA, here, is alleged to have killed Ho Chin Tau, 33, at the HSBC Bank office in Jalan Molek 1/10 , Taman Molek, at around 3.30pm on April 17. The offence carries the mandatory death on conviction.
No plea was recorded from the accused, who nodded to indicate he understood the charge when it was read to him.
Magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Allias fixed May 28 for re-mention. DPP Dzul Iswari Mohd Jaafar appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was not represented.
Earlier, the accused was brought to the Sessions Court where he claimed trial to a charge of using a knife to cause injuries to bank officer, R. Vasantha Devi, 54, at the same time and place. The charge carries a jail term of up to 20 years and canning.
Sessions Court judge Mohamad Haldar Ab Aziz set May 28 for re-mention. DPP Khazrin Hafiz Khalil appeared for the prosecution while the accused was not represented.
